Day Five and I'm Still Alive (and so are the kids)

Well, it's Friday which makes it day five of the RI21 eating plan. So far so good. I will admit, I did cheat ever so slightly yesterday and today. Yesterday it was a handful of chocolate chips in my Greek yogurt. Let's face it, Greek yogurt is an acquired taste and I'm not really acquiring a taste for it. Today it was a small piece of a chocolate chip muffin (if you know me in real life, you know I have a huge addiction to Tim Horton's tea and chocolate chip muffins). I have to say, while I do like this way of eating, I have been craving carbs like crazy. All I can think about, especially at night, is nachos and wings and poppers and cheese sticks........you get my drift. I've stayed with it though, drinking all the water (I have had tea twice because it's been so cold) and eating what was recommended. But I can't say I'm happy about it and it doesn't seem realistic or something I can keep up in the long term. Also, I don't really want to restrict myself to the point that I cave in big time and end up pigging out on all the wrong things. I am going to stick with this eating plan for the most part on a regular basis but I will allow myself to continue to have the things that I love, just not as often as I was before.
